IT WAS ESTIMATED THAT HURRICANE MATTHEW LEFT 18,000 VICTIMS ON COLOMBIA’S CARIBBEAN COAST HOMELESS
Hurricane Matthew, according to authorities was one of the most destructive storms of recent years – the primary damage was to homes and infrastructure, as the region flooded and rivers overflowed their banks.
The hurricane’s storm surge and torrential rainfall devastated the area. Matthew’s peak winds reached an astonishing 160mph. It’s intensification from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane was one of the fastest ever recorded.

Because of the incredible damage and human suffering, Oasis of Hope Charity decided to set up a Hurricane Matthew relief fund. Some food aid has already been distributed, but much more is needed. The charity also plans to build a house for at least one family that lost their home due to the flooding.
